BSG Working at Height Health and Safety training delivered using podcast
Training and development are an ongoing focus for Astra Security and keeping on top of any critical training for their staff and engineers remains a top priority.
Working closely with the Building Safety Group (BSG), who are recognised as one of the leading experts in construction health, safety and environmental welfare, there is an ongoing plan to deliver mandatory and regulatory training. Recently, it was the Working at Height training that was on the agenda.
The Working at Height training covers the following:
- Working at Height Regulations 2005
- Hazards likely to be encountered when working at height
- The hierarchy of control when planning working at height
- Collective and personal safety equipment used to ensure safety when working at height including the need for rescue plans
- The selection of the correct equipment to facilitate safe working at height
Usually, this course would take place off-site, in a classroom, but BSG now deliver this valuable training through Toolbox Talk podcasts. This allows more flexibility and supports the ongoing challenges which the pandemic has brought to light (such as travel, social distancing etc.), which can prove problematic for companies, meaning they can be accessed remotely and delivered on the ‘trainees’ agenda.

The Working at Height course is part of a year-long training schedule with the Building Safety Group, which also includes Plant and Equipment; Portable Handheld Electrical Tools; Noise; Hand Arm Vibration; Slips, Trip and Falls; Safety Signs; Manual Handling; PPE; Eye Protection; Respiratory Equipment; Asbestos Dust and Fumes; and Silica Dust.
