Astra's Julia pledges to do extra 50 miles of exercise as part of Mission 5000.
Julia Evans of Astra Security is embarking on a personal challenge, all in aid of MNDA (Motor Neurone Disease Association). It’s all part of Mission 5000, which is aimed at asking people to cover 5000 miles which represents the 5000 people in the country who have now been diagnosed with the disease.
The challenge for Julia is to do an extra 50 miles of exercise above and beyond her normal activities by walking, cycling, or running and all by 18th October.
Julia, Office Manager at Astra said, “ I’m already off to a good start having completed over 10K last Sunday. I did a 3.5K walk and a 7K bike ride.” She went on to say, “I’m looking to raise as much as I can, every pound will make such a difference in the fight against this awful disease.”
The charity is close to Julia’s heart, as she sadly lost her husband to this disease back in 2015.
Paul Beet, Managing Director at Astra said “We wish Julia all the very best with her pledge. It’s great to see that she’s already made good progress. The charity initiative is a really good idea, and I hope it raises awareness and the much-needed funds to help fight the disease.”
