Astra’s fitness sessions draw to a close

Wednesday night saw the final Astra Security fitness session take place – and it all ended on a high!

The session was delivered in the usual way with fitness guru Mark Hammond taking the staff and their families through their paces.

The sessions kicked off 6 weeks ago and have been offered by Astra as part of their staff health and wellbeing programme. The sessions are aimed at getting everyone energised, fitter, as well as having some fun at the same time.

Mark Hammond, Personal Trainer and Coach said, “I’ve really enjoyed working with Astra and putting together engaging sessions. I’ve been impressed by the motivation levels throughout. I’m hoping that some of them will continue to do some regular fitness using the hints, tips and ideas that I’ve given them.”  Mark went on to say, “It’s been a great initiative by Astra, and I’m looking forward to doing this kind of activity with other companies going forward.”

Greg Turner, Project Manager at Astra Security said, “ I’ve been really impressed by the sessions which have been provided for us. Mark has been outstanding at getting everyone motivated and inspired to get involved. I think I’ll miss the Wednesday night sessions as I’d started to get used to having these in the diary and the gains I have made. I’m keen to continue with a regular fitness activity, and will be talking to Mark about joining his regular workouts. I would like to thank Astra and Paul for arranging these sessions.”

This programme is part of a wider commitment to colleague Health and Wellbeing at Astra Security, who already have several initiatives in place including cyclescheme, fruit boxes, flexible working, lunchtime running club as well as a partnership with Mental Health Charity, Time to Change.
