Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems are a proven technology in assisting with the reduction of stock theft. Volumes of stock loss vary, but in 2007 £4 Billion of stock was expected to be lost, a large proportion of this during the Christmas season.
EAS Tagging systems allow items to be ‘tagged’ with security labels and tags, acting not only as a deterrent to thieves, but also initiating an alarm if items are being removed from premises unlawfully. There are a variety of systems to protect entrances including hidden loop systems and pedestals. What will you need?
A typical tagging system consists of: two pedestals either side of the door (usually spaced at 1.4m to 1.6m); hard tags for items such as clothes (many styles available); labels for boxed Items and a detacher / label deactivator for the till point. The equipment can be branded with your business logos, or used for advertising, maximising loss prevention and sales potential.
